About us
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We understand that you have many potential parents to consider as you are going on this journey and that this is a thoughtful and serious decision for you to make. As a couple, we have always known that we want to be parents one day, and that adoption was a viable option for us. Please read more about us below. Our motivations for seeking to adopt, our relationship, our family values, and more will show that we would be dedicated, caring, and loving adoptive parents. We hope that you select us as adoptive parents, knowing that we would welcome your child into our family as our own.
Our Lifestyle
We lead an active and family-oriented life. One of our favorite things to do is to spend time with our family and friends.
Peters likes to mountain bike, snowboard, ride ATVs, and host barbeques. Lisa likes to spend time in the garden. We both like to spend time with our extended family and have particularly great relationships with our nieces and nephews. We hope to one day bring that type of bond and love into a relationship with our own child. Whatever activities we currently like to do, we hope to enjoy with our child.
As for our work, Peter is a business owner and Lisa works in accounting. It is important to us that we have dinner together each night. While we have not yet specifically planned out childcare, we understand that it will be a part of our child’s life during our work week, and we will be sure to find a high quality, safe place for our child.
Education is important to us; we recognize that is how our child would learn, make friendships, develop social skills, and more. Our child can also learn from us, our family, and our friends. The hope is that our child would go to college, but we understand that would be a conversation involving our child closer to that time. Overall, our goal would be to lead him or her in the right direction and make sure they have every opportunity to earn an amazing education.
In our town, our neighborhood is small and close knit. There are already several families in the area that have young kids, so we know it would be a good place for our child to grow up. Just as importantly, we have a good school system in our area.
Why We Chose Adoption
We have always known that we have wanted to be parents and to raise a child together. We have heard so many people speak of the unique love that exists between a parent and child, and we dream of holding our baby in our arms and loving them more than anything else in the world. While we will strive to give our child the world, we also know that having a child in our family will complete us, too.
Since we married later in life, we recognized that creating our own baby may not be an option. We tried for about a year to have a child. Eventually, we did get pregnant, but unfortunately the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. After that, we tried three rounds of IVF unsuccessfully. While going through our pregnancy journey, we continually thought of adoption as another way to have a baby join our family.

Our Family Values
Our child will be raised in a household that values hard work, family and friend relationships, and love. It is important that our child grows up with a combination of laughter, fun, learning responsibilities, and having respect for everyone around them.
Family is one of our core values and we are both very family oriented. In fact, most of our best childhood memories come from time spent with family. For Lisa, it was impactful for her to grow up in a house full of love with her grandparents, parents, brother, aunt, and cousin. The holidays were always such a joy in her full house. Similarly, one of Peter’s favorite memories was a family Christmas in Delaware with his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Vacations with family and extended family in general were a highlight of his childhood. To this day, his family works to keep the Christmas tradition of getting together alive. We visit our families for most holidays and try to go on vacation all together often.
